Playground
by Tha Wrecka

The swing set in the park I used to know
The place that felt like childhood, felt like home
Under the shifting shade of leafy trees
The chains jangled so lightly in the breeze
The sand would always end up in my shoes
My palms went hard and red from holding chains
And as I flew through the air I could lose
My reality and life's daily strains

They replaced the swings with tacky plastic
There's fences, bright sun, seats to which you stick
The glaring primary colours tell me
"You're an adult now.
Deal with it."
