Harry Potter
I finally got into it after many years of resisting. That said? Harry Potter is freakin' adorable and I really want to read about the boy. I think Sirius/Remus is totally meant to be, have a crush on Oliver Wood, and read more Harry pairings than you can wave a wand at. My first forays into this fandom have realised some really interesting stuff and a large percentage of crap.

Slackened Ties by Annie Sewell-Jennings ![]()
At turns wonderfully angsty and riotously funny, the very best part about this school-era Sirius/Remus is that it's almost unbelievably sexy.
Unreservedly Remus by Llama
Interesting Sirius/Remus, set immediately post-Hogwarts, which takes a very different tack than most stories about them during that time period. It has texture and interesting detail. I like.
Another Chance by Stellamaru
Interesting R/S look at the aftermath of the trick, sexy and nicely characterised and, most importantly, painful.
Dragon-Blind by Thamiris
Fucking fabulous Harry/Snape, rich and dirty with delicious description and full to bursting with feeling. The characterisation is fantastic.
Heartbeat by Amberina
Very cool Harry/Hermione with a really modern, interesting sensibility.
One of the Great Love Stories by parker
Sweet, slow burn Harry/Hermione that gives me a warm, comfortable feeling. It's just lovely.
I Think You've Lost It by Luminous Marble
Terribly amusing H/R/H.
Rust by Amy Lin
Damn uncomfortable Harry/Ron, and rather nicely put together.
Close Shave by Penguin
Strange and interesting Harry/Hermione.
A Choriambic Progression by Mairead Triste and Aristide
Long, plotty, well-characterised Harry/Snape. I had some problems with this story but it quite successfully sold me on the pairing and was an enjoyable read.
Hearbeat by Amberina
Pretty, sexy, screwed up Harry/Hermione. There needs to be more H/H like this.
Bird's Eye View by Isabeau
Very cute story about Harry/Ron through the eyes of Pigwidgeon. The characterisation is fabulous and it's about the cutest thing I've ever read.
Conditioned Response by Dr. Jekyl
Sinister yet G rated Snape story. Quite the accomplishment.
Credulous by k
Lovely, funny, in character Harry/Ron.
Close Enough by Helen
Long, complicated post-war Harry/Ron which takes the characters interesting places. There's a reason everyone recs this - it's really good.
Still the One by Ulrika
Wonderful and well put together Harry/Ron.
Blue by phineas
Wonderful, painful, subtle Harry/Ron. This is very good.
Something by kaydee falls
Beautifully sad Sirius/Remus full of regret and with a wonderfully written last part. It makes my heart ache.
The Quiet by Redd
Incredibly painful Remus piece, set after the deaths of Lily and James.
The Last Gasp by Telanu
Excellent Harry/Snape drabble.
The Rain Keeps Falling by Luthien
Beautifully written Snape/Harry piece, even if it loses some impact for me not loving the pairing.
If You Do, If You Don't by Silvia Kundera
Raw and painful, if confusing, Harry/Ron.
Broomflight by Mad Martha
Charming James/Lily with a little bit of the puppies in the background.
Vanishing Point by Stella
Amazing Sirius/Remus, exploring them through sex.
Into the Light of the Dark Black Night by Sandy
This is just amazing. It's part James/Lily and it's all about Lily and adjusting to the magic world. The conceit is fabulous and well carried off. The characterisation is top notch. In various places it made me gasp. This is just wonderful.
Think Happy Thoughts by Divine Fayth
Cute Harry/Neville.
Together by Hmpf MacSlow
This is heartbreaking Sirius/Remus set during OotP that actually makes me cry. It really gives the sense of the past pressing in on them, and the whole thing is so true to canon.
Missing by mirrorblack
Short but in canon OotP Harry/Ron. Nice.
Household Charm by _hannelore
This is cute and in character Harry/Ron.
Morning After by romanticalgirl
Post trick S/R, Sirius grovels and gets angry and is just generally really hot.
When Molly Found Out by aome
Rather nice Harry/Ron, dealing with the coming out issue.
An Indecent Proposal by jinglefairy
Hysterical take on Snape/Harry cliche fic.
Coin Tossers by Sloane
Wonderful Sirius/Remus MWPP era story. There are a few annoying typos you should ignore 'cause it's charming and in character and just cute.
Listen Like Thieves by Victoria P.
Hot and in character Sirius/Remus set during OotP. It's absolutely wonderful.
A Helping Hand by Moony/Jaida
Normally POV shifts make me run screaming in irritation, but I can forgive them in this lovely, hot MWPP-era Sirius/Remus because it's so nicely in character and presses all sorts of boyslash buttons for me.
The Dog and the Sparrow by Green
The idea of Ginny/Sirius squicks me, generally, but this drabble is just fantastic.
All In A Day's Work by Switchknife
Charming and very nicely put together Harry/Ron porn.
An Awfully Odd Adventure by DementorDelta
Delightfully mad AU Harry/Snape semi-crossover with Peter Pan. This is just charming and has some gorgeous imagery.
Something Black by Caesia
Strange and beautiful Harry/Snape drabble.
Waking by Caesia
This is utterly fantastic post-war Harry. The characterisation makes sense to me and it's vicious in a way I really like.
A Dare's a Dare... right? by LizardLaugh
Nicely in character Harry/Ron/Hermione piece.
It Was All Right by Icarus
Sweet little Harry/Ron piece with the hint of something darker underneath.
A Journey in Ten Lies by Switchknife
Painful post-Ootp story and the only Bill/Remus story I've actually believed.
Car Series : Man's Best Friend and You've Got a Fast Car by aesc
Very cute Harry/Ron and a lovely adventure with the Ford Anglia.
Moving Pictures by Anna
Sigh. Wonderful Harry/Ron. There needs to be more of this pairing because they really do work together well, as this story shows.
Letters from the great...suburbs of London, really
Interesting round robin series of letters between the marauders.
Silent Scream, Now Her Part is Over and Paint It Black by Mala
It's Molly/Sirius, kind of, but it's so much more than that. It's mostly just a painful look at Molly dealing during and after OotP. It's very well put together.
Waltz For the Moon and Song for a Starless Night by Naraku
This is really cool. It's a tense Sirius/Remus story dealing with the lead-up to, and immediate fall-out of, the prank and it's just delicious.
Moon Scars and Strewn Stars by llamajoy ![]()
Ooh, the tension. Sirius finds out Remus' secret. Very nice.
Out of the Woods and Waiting for Ganymede by Canis M
Two lovely Sirius/Remus stories with fantabulous characterisation and a wonderful closeness I just adore.
Close, Losers and Losing and Shaken From the Fall by Elizabeth ![]()
This is some really cool Sirius/Remus. It really brings you inside Remus' head at these three points in time. It's tense and atmospheric and you can really feel the closeness and distance between Sirius and Remus. I like the writing style. I love this. It's fantastic.
Without Nightmares by Iron Magnolia
This is a wonderful Sirius/Remus re-union story. It depicts, quite nicely, how time and the relevant events have damaged both men physically and mentally and has a scene-stealing cameo from McGonagoll.
Midnight and Dawn by Kaylana
These are just two cute little shorts about young Sirius and Remus.
He Said It That Knew it Best by Lexin
I like this one. Subtle Sirius/Remus from Harry's POV.
Harry Potter and the Heir of Gryffindor by venus
A long gen story that feels true to the source canon, with original characters that don't make me want to stab someone. It's totally cool.
Death Eaters at the Malfoy Estate by Grindylowe
Oh, this is hilarious. It's a very silly look at Snape and the other Death Eaters in the 70's that made me giggle hysterically. Don't look for sense in this.
The Rapture, Throned on Highest Bliss by Snaples
I feel kind of dirty after reading these, but in the good way. These are really frickin' hot and uncomfortable, with fantastic description of dangerous sexual practices and Snape taking advantage of more than one student.
Harry Potter and the Polka Dot Plague by Mariner
Harry gets a silly wizard disease, passing it on to Snape in turn, and it is both funny and touching, with good characterisation.
Underwater Light by Maya
Draco/Harry WIP. The fact that it's a WIP makes me want to scream, because it's so good I want to read how it ends already. The characterisation is tight and the tension builds nicely.
Love Under Will by Aja
This is long, angsty, sexy Harry/Draco with lots of lovely tension all over the place. The first section is done but I'm waiting on tenterhooks for the rest because there are plot threads I'd like to see followed up.
Tissue of Silver by Fearless Diva
This is just, yes, Harry/Draco in the future and it's wonderfully atmospheric. And, oh, the chair! I like this a lot.
Je Te Plumerais and The Exaltation of the Lark by Nimori
It's Lucius/Harry which is, of course, a totally disturbing pairing. It's sufficiently dark, and also rather funny in parts and is generally pretty cool. You might want to ignore the end scenes of both, though.
Draco Malfoy the Amazing Bouncing... Rat? and epilogue by Maya
It ends up Draco/Hermione, but mostly it's a very amusing story about Draco getting turned into a small furry animal again and getting adopted by the Gryffindors. Also, Harry and Seamus are particularly funny in this story.
Lust Over Pendle by AJ Hall
Yes, I am aware pretty much everyone recommends this. I never thought Draco/Neville would work, but this story makes them perfect for each other. Also, it explores various minor characters nicely and is amusing and nicely plotted. I don't like the Harry characterisation but I can ignore that.
